Now that we've covered some of the basics of brochure design and style guides, let's explore some things every small business owner should know about printing. When most people think about printing, they think about printing an article or invoice on their home or office printer. What I want to discuss is commercial printing.
As a business owner, you'll need to print various things, from business cards to brochures to coupons to invoices, and so on. Some of this you can take care of at home and some you'll need to take to a commercial printer. Over the next few weeks, we'll talk about everything you need to know to avoid problems and headaches in dealing with your local print shop, including file formats, types of printers, paper choice, turnaround times, and cost.
Stay tuned.

You have my curiosity as to how will explain to deal with commercial printers. Staying tuned in.

You provide some excellent background for folks who don't have much experience choosing printers. Like most things, however, with commercial printing there's no "one size fits all." Online...local...which is best? It depends on one's goals, budget, deadline and a handful of other variables. For example, it's typically more environmentally friendly to order online. There's no travel (no gas), less waste (online PDF proofing vs. hard proofing), and, typically there are more options for items like recycled papers and water-based coatings. Before making a decision, designers, marketers and small business owners should check out all of their options and choose based on their specific needs.
